Review of Coleman SUNDOME 7'X7'

Instructions on how to setup the Coleman Sundome tent. The flysheet only has a waterproof rating of 800mm.

The aluminium piece in guy lines are actually to adjust its tightness, not to be attached to the pegs.

This tent is more than 20 years old. It was never seriously used. My son tried to use it for his boy scouts training at his school at Maktab Sabah but in a heavy rain water leaked through very badly that they had to setup the tend inside their classes.



Before the rainfly, or flysheet was installed.

Piped water was poured over the flysheet. Water leaked very badly. Still water did not leak.

Inside the tent. No water got through.


The ground sheet was not wet.

 

The temperature inside the tent at 10 am after being put inside for more than 10 minutes. 40 degC.

The temperature inside my bathroom. 30 degC.

Outer Tent Around Video Ground sheet is canvas 66 inch wide, 167.6 cm. 104 inch long, 264.1 cm.  For the Outer Tent, weighing 744 g, the straps ate provided at the centre of the side walls. The side walls also have extra straps at the ground. There are: 10 line-less straps. 2 straps for lines. For the Inner Tent, weighing at 551 g, there are: 5 line-less straps. Masak Lemak Labu Merah (Pumpkin)

Labu Merah Masak Lemak is my favourite food. It is best to cook it with salted fish. If no salted fish, dried prawn is a good alternative. The dried prawn is best crushed or ground. No need to crush salted fish. The pumpkin is best cooked until it is soft and some portion of the pumpkin mixing with the gravy. The gravy tastes better if it contains pumpkin flesh. Milk is a good substitute because it is readily available. It tastes delicious also. Just use crushed red unions and ginger. No need to use garlic.
